Teradyne Robotics Partners with Siemens to Drive Future of Automation at MxD Innovation Center!

Teradyne Robotics has entered into a landmark collaboration with Siemens to create a robotics showcase at the MxD (Manufacturing x Digital) Innovation Center in Chicago, IL. This partnership aims to integrate advanced AI-driven automation solutions for various industries, such as consumer-packaged goods, aerospace, semiconductor manufacturing, and more.

MxD, a renowned hub for digital manufacturing and cybersecurity, features some of the most cutting-edge manufacturing equipment globally. As a founding member of MxD, Siemens is leading the way by showcasing industry-specific digital threads with a key focus on robotics applications powered by artificial intelligence.

This collaboration builds upon previous joint efforts between Teradyne and Siemens in 2024, cementing Teradyne’s role as a strategic partner in North America’s automation revolution. Through their combined efforts, Teradyne Robotics—including cobot (collaborative robot) company Universal Robots and autonomous mobile robot (AMR) company MiR—will display cutting-edge robotics like the UR5e cobot and next-gen cobots UR20 and UR30, as well as the MiR 250 and a mobile cobot. These solutions are designed to replicate the setup of a real factory line, enabling visitors to see how robotics and automation technologies can significantly enhance manufacturing operations and productivity.

At MxD, this showcase aims to offer manufacturers a clear path towards adopting Industry 4.0 technologies by streamlining integration between robotics and industrial automation. Visitors will experience first-hand the benefits of real-time data analytics, smart production processes, and how advanced robotics can reduce labor costs and optimize efficiency in cleanroom environments, semiconductor factories, and beyond.

Rainer Brehm, CEO of Factory Automation at Siemens Digital Industries, emphasized the importance of this collaboration: “Our joint efforts with Teradyne Robotics enable customers to preview the future of automation, creating a frictionless bridge between robotics and next-gen industrial solutions. ”With Siemens and Teradyne leading the charge, manufacturers will not only gain deeper insights into applied robotics and automation but will also experience the AI-powered innovations driving the next wave of smart manufacturing.
