Brother Industries, Ltd. has successfully completed construction of a new machine tool factory near Bengaluru, India, marking the company’s third such facility globally, following those in Japan and China. Scheduled to begin operations in December 2024, this facility is a strategic move under Brother’s “At your side 2030” vision, aimed at driving growth in its industrial equipment business. Positioned in the rapidly growing Indian market, this factory is set to meet rising demand from key sectors such as automotive, motorcycle, and medical fields.
The state-of-the-art facility, located in the Japan Industrial Township (JIT) in Tumakuru, will produce standard models like the S500Bd1 and S700Bd1 machine tools. Its close proximity to Brother’s existing technology centers in Bengaluru and Gurugram further strengthens the company’s service and support network in India.
Sustainability is also a key focus, with solar panels installed on the factory’s roof to reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 600 tons annually. This initiative is part of Brother’s commitment to integrating renewable energy into its operations.
By establishing local manufacturing capabilities, Brother aims to reduce delivery times and better serve its Indian customers, ensuring continued growth in the machine tool market.
