ID grooving the cool way: Schwanog WSI system, optional with integrated coolant channel in the insertable tool from Floyd.
The problem of chip elimination is ever-present in shops all around the globe. During the internal machining of precision parts, the WSI system with its options of ID grooving or ID turning has been setting high standards for years. To eliminate chips from a bore even better, the WSI system line was expanded with an insertable tool carrying a coolant channel integrated into the carbide metal.
This solution provides an advantage mainly in situations where the holder is perhaps too far away from the part, and therefore not getting sufficient coolant to the part. With that, the WSI system offers now a great benefit when machining materials with obstinate chip formation.
