Japanese tooling company OSG are the worlds largest manufacturer of taps & end mills. Tony Cooper from OSG explains to MTDCNC’s Joe Reynolds that Brother machines tap at very high speeds thus making them susceptible to pitch runout, the OSG taps are designed in conjunction with Brother, (shown here on a Brother SPEEDIO F600X1 at Whitehouse Machine Tools) to run at speeds up to 50 metres per minute but still maintain pitch correctness. With their new facility in Nuneaton, OSG are able to carry greater stock of their range of round shape products for tapping, drilling & milling, ensuring that they can supply their customers with much shorter lead times.
