WFL Millturn Technologies Inc. USA has introduced the M50 Millturn, a versatile turning-boring-milling machine featuring a center distance of 4,500 mm. This machine is designed to enhance productivity and reliability in machining operations with a wide range of powerful tools that can be connected to the B-axis, ergonomic operator stations, and various control panel tools and cycles that streamline workflows.
The M50 Millturn offers user-friendly access to the standard tool magazine via large viewing windows in the sliding doors, providing operators with an unobstructed overview of the working area. The machine comes equipped with LED lighting, mimicking daylight, for optimal visibility. Additionally, a separate pick-up magazine is available for handling very long or heavy tools, while the disc magazine can be expanded to accommodate up to 200 stations, each with direct access, ensuring efficient tool management. Optical sensors within the tool magazine enhance monitoring capabilities.
WFL is focused on minimizing interruptions that typically require operator intervention, such as measurements and controls, by integrating software packages directly into the machine control. These include intelligent clamping devices and tools that automate processes, thereby reducing downtime and improving overall efficiency.
A key feature of the M50 Millturn is the CrashGuard Studio, a realistic 3D simulation software designed for testing and optimizing CNC programs. This software can be used on an external workstation or directly on the machine’s control unit to optimize processing sequences and correct errors early on, significantly reducing the risk of collisions, scrap parts, and unproductive downtimes. CrashGuard Studio is compatible with WFL’s CrashGuard collision prevention software and can supplement any CAD/CAM software by transferring data for workpieces, tools, and clamping devices as needed.
WFL also offers the Millturn Pro programming software, featuring interactive graphics and the ability to function as a universal programming system for complex workpieces. Programming can be performed either on an external station or directly at the machine’s control panel. The programmed operations can be continuously checked, step by step, within CrashGuard Studio.
The M50 Millturn comes equipped with WFL’s technology cycles, which cover a wide range of standard and specialized applications. These program modules require only the input of parameters and allow for efficient programming directly on the machine control or a PC, making them suitable for both complex and simple workpieces.
With the M50 Millturn, WFL Millturn Technologies continues to push the boundaries of machining precision, offering a machine that not only enhances productivity but also ensures process reliability, making it a valuable asset for any machining operation.
