From Finish Line to Shop Floor: JOTA’s Journey with Haas Machine Tools
Take a look indside JOTA Advanced Engineering, where FIA World Endurance Championship expertise meets Haas machine…
The final episode of the Great HAAS Make Off at Vision West Nottingham College sees the winning team win the challenge. Their design is a cutting tool holder for a lathe. An ingenious design that the judging panel thought must already be being produced, but it’s not and they all thought that it was a product they would buy and use. Like most great ideas the tool holder is a simple design well thought out and has great time saving potential with collecting tools from stores and keeping work benches clear. The students all found it really useful to work in a real world environment and helped many find a final direction for their futures as the engineers of tomorrow. James Leet from HAAS interviews 4 of the members of the winning team, vision West Nottingham College hopes this will become an annual challenge and will spread throughout other colleges in the country.
