Jakson Engineers to Invest ₹2,000 Crore in Solar Manufacturing Expansion, Creating 1,200 Jobs!

Jakson Engineers Ltd (JEL), a prominent player in the energy and infrastructure sector, has announced a substantial expansion of its solar manufacturing operations with an investment of ₹2,000 crore (approximately $240 million). This ambitious plan includes the establishment of a new 2.5 GW solar cell manufacturing facility, which will be developed in two phases to meet the surging demand for solar energy solutions in India.

In addition to the new solar cell plant, Jakson is enhancing its existing solar module manufacturing capacity to 2,000 MW, with completion expected within six months. The first phase of the solar cell facility is anticipated to be operational within the next 15 months, further solidifying Jakson’s commitment to sustainability and the renewable energy sector.

This investment is projected to create 1,200 new jobs, reinforcing Jakson’s position in the market and its long-term vision of becoming a fully integrated solar solutions provider. Sundeep Gupta, Vice Chairman & Managing Director of Jakson Group, emphasized that this expansion not only strengthens the company’s market presence but also aligns with India’s AatmaNirbhar Bharat initiative, aiming to reduce reliance on imports and bolster domestic production.

Currently, India has a solar cell manufacturing capacity of 7 GW, and Jakson’s expansion will play a critical role in the country’s goal to achieve Net Zero emissions. The new facilities will leverage TOPCON technology, known for its high efficiency and reliability, ensuring that Jakson delivers superior value to its customers. With this expansion, Jakson aims to establish itself as a 5,000 MW integrated solar wafer, cell, and module manufacturer, significantly contributing to India’s transition to sustainable energy and its ambition to become a global leader in renewable energy solutions.
