Efficiency Unleashed: Fryer Machine Systems’ HB Series Boring Mills for Fast Setup and Precision Cutting

Fryer Machine Systems introduces the HB Series Boring Mills, proudly manufactured in the U.S., designed to revolutionize machining with rapid setup and simplified shopfloor programming. Tailored for quick one-off part production, these mills offer fully manual operation, and their innovative features cater to various programming needs.

The “Do One” mode facilitates single-cycle operation with no programming required, ensuring swift execution for quick part production. For more advanced programming requirements, the “Full Conversational” mode and “G-code” mode provide flexibility and efficiency.

Constructed with rugged cast iron bodies and incorporating high-precision ballscrews and bearings, the HB Series guarantees high-accuracy tolerances. The mills feature 50-taper, 4″-diameter bar/quills with 20″ of W-axis travel and robust 40 HP, 3,000 rpm spindle motors boasting 360 ft./lbs. of torque. The built-in rotary tables enable multi-side machining for enhanced productivity.

The use of box ways on all three axes enhances rigidity, minimizes vibration, and extends tool life. Turcite-coated friction surfaces, oil-fed and sliding on top of the box ways, reduce wear and enhance accuracy. Meehanite castings, machined twice and stress relieved, contribute to the mills’ durability.

Equipped with the Fryer-Siemens CNC, these mills facilitate shopfloor programming for single-piece runs or G-code programming for high production. The “Do One” cycles eliminate manual setups, enabling users to automate threading, roughing, turning, drilling, and tapping step by step. Additionally, regenerative drives offer energy savings of over 40%, as claimed by Fryer.

Built for high-performance cutting, accuracy, reliability, and ease of use, Fryer HB machines undergo laser calibration and ballbar verification on all axes, with printed results shipped with every machine. Fryer stands behind its machine quality with a one-year warranty on its HB Boring Mills.
