The world wide launch of the new DMG MORI 85H Universal 5 Axis Horizontal Machining Centre

Lyndsey from MTDCNC visits the DMG MORI Open House in Pfronten Germany for the world wide launch of their new DMU 85H Universal 5 Axis Horizontal Machining Centre. As Raphael Kostas from DMG MORI explains this machine is aimed at manufacturer’s that historically have been using vertical 5 axis machining centres that want to step up their production processes & looking towards automation. This unique machine can deep hole drill up to 650mm & machine across the whole table even when it is flipped through 90 degrees, allowing complex parts to be produced in a single operation. With automation in mind launched at the same time is the new DMG MORI PH 2000 pallet handling cell which is the ideal automation system for this machine although the DMU 85H can be linked with linear storage or robotic systems. With it’s wheel type tool magazine it has the capability to store a huge amount of tools allowing fully automated lights out running. If you’re looking at upping your production processes & automation talk to DMG MORI now.
