Unlocking Opportunities: piùAdditive Showcases Italy’s Rise in Additive Manufacturing at BI-MU 2024

According to the European Patent Office (EPO), additive manufacturing solutions have seen a significant surge in patent applications over the past decade, averaging an annual increase of about 30%. This growth rate is six times higher than that of other high-technology sectors, underscoring the substantial interest in additive manufacturing technologies. With a staggering turnover of 16 billion euros in 2022, the additive manufacturing market is predominantly situated in the United States and Europe.

Italy has emerged as one of the top 10 countries in terms of patent applications for additive manufacturing and maintains its second position in the European Union for industrial installations. These encouraging statistics signify Italy’s considerable potential for additive manufacturing development, spanning various sectors such as pharmaceuticals, healthcare, biomedical engineering, aerospace, and transportation.

The upcoming piùAdditive initiative, held within the 34.BI-MU biennial trade show, is slated to occur at fieramilano Rho from October 9 to 12, 2024. Over the years, piùAdditive has evolved into a pivotal event for manufacturers, distributors, and users of additive solutions. Out of the 50,000 attendees at the previous BI-MU edition in 2022, 26% specifically expressed interest in additive manufacturing.

Additive manufacturing, with its ability to optimize energy and material resources, is now at the forefront of the sustainability discourse, alongside digitalization, a focal theme at the upcoming BI-MU edition. These factors contribute to making piùAdditive even more appealing to industry operators, offering lucrative business prospects for exhibitors within its area. Additionally, piùAdditive will blend exhibition with networking and cultural insights through a diverse program of events hosted at the AITA-ITALIAN ASSOCIATION OF ADDITIVE TECHNOLOGIES stand, the initiative’s sponsor.
