Tungaloy Unleashes Precision: Introducing XVCT-AM Inserts for Non-Ferrous Machining Excellence

Tungaloy has unveiled ten new XVCT-AM square shoulder milling inserts, expanding its TungAluMill line tailored for non-ferrous applications.

TungAluMill is crafted for efficient machining of aluminum alloys and various non-ferrous materials at elevated speeds. The tool is engineered to counteract radial insert displacement induced by robust cutting forces and potent centrifugal forces during the high-speed rotation of the cutter. This feature is crucial for optimizing the machining of aluminum components. Moreover, the insert’s top and peripheral surfaces undergo precision grinding and polishing, resulting in a mirror-like finish. This yields high-positive and sharp cutting edges, ensuring a smooth cutting action, superior surface finishing quality, and prevention of built-up edge formation on the cutting edge.

Derived from the attributes of the conventional XVCT-AJ inserts, the new XVCT-AM inserts introduce an enhanced interface design. This design elevates insert retention during high-speed machining while concurrently reducing raw material usage for insert production. Remarkably, these enhancements are achieved without compromising cutting performance.
