Seco has introduced its Axiabore and Axiabore Plus Digital Axial Boring Heads, designed to eliminate the challenges of inaccurate boring head adjustments, which often result in scrapped parts. These innovative tools feature a wide digital display, enabling quick and efficient setup by displaying precise displacement values during the adjustment process. The digital display is compatible with all Seco Digital Axial Boring Heads and can be reversed for clear visibility even inside a machine tool.
The digital adjustment device requires no batteries and is instead USB rechargeable. This design eliminates the risk of contamination associated with battery changes, ensuring a clean and sealed tool setup. The device attaches to the boring head with magnets, creating a tight seal that protects it from dust and coolant exposure. A single charge powers the digital display for up to 200 measurements, enhancing operational efficiency and reliability.
Seco’s digital boring heads are available in five sizes and match the company’s analog axial tool range, starting at diameters as small as 2 mm. These heads are suitable for OD turning diameters from 2 mm to 57 mm and grooving diameters from 19 mm to 96 mm. The heads are equipped with Graflex, Seco-Capto, and HSK-A63 connections, enabling them to achieve IT5 diameter precision and Ra 0.6 surface finishes.
For fine boring diameters ranging from 2 mm to 20 mm, the Axiabore heads are the ideal choice. The Axiabore Plus multipurpose heads are suited for larger diameters, spanning 6 mm to 108 mm. These digital boring heads are a testament to Seco’s commitment to innovation and precision in machining, helping manufacturers reduce scrap and enhance productivity.
