Scientific Cutting Tools Unveils New Wear-Resistant Roughing Drills

Scientific Cutting Tools has introduced its latest product line: roughing drills specifically designed for SAEJ1926 and AS5202 ports, covering sizes -2 through -8. These drills are engineered to precisely prepare holes for these ports.

Made from 10% micro-grain carbide and featuring coolant through-holes, the roughing drills are built to provide excellent wear resistance, which can extend tool life and decrease cycle time. They are suitable for use in various ferrous materials, stainless steel, and high-temperature alloys.

“Our new roughing drills complete the range of tools we offer to manufacturers working with ports,” says Jonathan Christopher, Director of Manufacturing at Scientific Cutting Tools. “By adding these drills to our portfolio, we aim to complement our existing port tools and thread mills, making it more convenient for our customers to source everything they need from one supplier.”
