Sandvik Acquires CAM Reseller FASTech to Strengthen Digital Manufacturing Presence!

Sandvik has announced the acquisition of FASTech, a U.S.-based reseller of Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) solutions within the Mastercam network. This strategic move enhances Sandvik’s position in the CAM market and reinforces its capabilities to serve a growing customer base in the digital manufacturing space.

FASTech, founded in 1988 and headquartered in Findlay, Ohio, specializes in providing CAM solutions to manufacturing customers in the Midwest region of the U.S. The acquisition will integrate FASTech into the Mastercam business unit, which operates under Sandvik Manufacturing and Machining Solutions.

“This acquisition supports our strategic direction to grow in the digital manufacturing space, strengthens our regional presence, and enhances our ability to help our customers,” said Stefan Widing, President and CEO of Sandvik.

Mastercam Interim President Russ Bukowski highlighted the importance of the acquisition in reinforcing customer relationships. “Integrating FASTech into Mastercam reinforces our commitment to providing manufacturers with unmatched support and industry-leading CAD/CAM solutions,” he said. “This acquisition allows us to build even closer relationships with customers in the Midwest region of the United States, ensuring their success in an evolving manufacturing landscape.”

This move follows Sandvik’s 2021 acquisition of CNC Software Inc., the developer of Mastercam, a leading CAM software brand with a substantial global user base. The addition of FASTech complements Sandvik’s growing portfolio in the digital manufacturing sector and underscores its commitment to providing robust solutions tailored to the evolving needs of the industry.

While the financial terms of the acquisition remain undisclosed, Sandvik has stated that the impact on its EBITA margin and earnings per share will be limited. The acquisition further strengthens Sandvik’s foothold in the U.S. market and aligns with its broader strategy to expand its digital manufacturing footprint globally.
