Rockwell Automation Strengthens Asia-Pacific Supply Chain with New Chennai Manufacturing Facility!

Rockwell Automation, a global leader in industrial automation and digital transformation, has announced its strategic decision to establish a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, expected to begin operations in the first half of 2025; this decision marks a significant step in enhancing the company’s supply chain resilience and operational efficiency across the Asia-Pacific region. The new facility, which will span 98,000 square feet, will be located in the Sholinganallur Elcot Special Economic Zone, a location that has been carefully selected due to its proximity to Rockwell’s existing CUBIC manufacturing site; this move is intended to create operational synergies that will boost productivity, reduce costs, and further streamline Rockwell’s manufacturing processes.

Dilip Sawhney, Managing Director of Rockwell Automation India, expressed his optimism about the company’s expanded footprint in the region, emphasizing how the new site will contribute not only to Rockwell’s global manufacturing capabilities but also to the wider industrial ecosystem in India, a nation increasingly becoming a hub for global manufacturing initiatives. This announcement also highlights Tamil Nadu’s growing stature as a prime destination for foreign investment in the manufacturing sector, a fact that was underscored by Tamil Nadu’s Industries Minister, TRB Rajaa, who noted the state’s competitive edge in attracting high-profile companies and fostering industrial growth. With this investment, Rockwell Automation reaffirms its commitment to the Asia-Pacific market, further consolidating its position following the recent inauguration of a new Customer Experience Centre in Singapore, a key regional hub for advanced technology solutions.

This facility, which is poised to play a crucial role in Rockwell’s global manufacturing strategy, represents another important milestone for the company, which is headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and employs approximately 29,000 people worldwide, serving customers in over 100 countries. The combination of advanced automation technology and cutting-edge manufacturing techniques that will be implemented at the Chennai site is expected to drive innovation, promote sustainability, and support the company’s long-term growth objectives in the rapidly expanding markets of the Asia-Pacific region.
