Platinum Tooling Technologies Inc., a leading provider of precision tooling solutions, has announced the availability of a new range of Heimatec speed multipliers designed specifically for live-tool lathes. These innovative speeders are engineered to enhance machining capabilities by increasing spindle speeds, thereby improving production efficiency and allowing for finer machining operations.
The speed multipliers are versatile and compatible with a wide array of machine tool setups, including all VDI and BMT turrets, as well as various Swiss-style machines. They are suitable for working on both the outer diameter (OD) and the face of workpieces, with options for either external or internal coolant designs. This flexibility ensures that manufacturers can integrate these speeders into their existing equipment with ease, enhancing performance without significant modifications.
In-stock models include speed multipliers for all BMT turrets used by prominent machine brands such as Doosan, Haas, Miyano, and Nakamura, as well as several Citizen models. For other configurations, additional units are available from factory stock with short lead times, ensuring that customers can quickly access the tools they need to optimize their production processes.
Preben Hansen, President of Platinum Tooling, expressed enthusiasm about the expanded product line: “As our presence in the American machine tool market continues to expand, so does our product line. These speed multipliers offer customers a way to enhance their machine tool capabilities and increase production.”
The Heimatec speed multipliers feature gear ratios that can increase the output speed up to three times the input speed, reaching maximum speeds of up to 18,000 rpm. This significant boost in spindle speed allows for high-speed machining operations, improving surface finishes and reducing cycle times. The speeders are constructed with precision engineering and robust materials to ensure durability and reliable performance, even under demanding industrial conditions.
By incorporating these advanced speed multipliers, manufacturers can achieve higher productivity levels and enhance the versatility of their live-tool lathes. The ability to perform high-speed machining operations on existing equipment provides a cost-effective solution for businesses seeking to improve efficiency and stay competitive in the market.
