The new Okuma facility will span 35,000 square feet and will house the technical services and support group dedicated to mechanical and electrical component exchanges, repairs, and upgrades. This includes the capacity to produce replacement components for Okuma’s legacy technologies. The facility will feature specialized areas for inspecting and assembling mechanical units, including spindles, and will also accommodate computer board disassembly, repair, and CNC control simulation. Additionally, a well-stocked warehouse will hold thousands of inventoried parts to support Okuma’s extensive product range and zero-obsolescence policy.
Mike Hampton, Okuma’s senior manager of field service, emphasized that the new facility will significantly reduce repair times and enable customers to maximize the utilization of their machine tools. He noted that the combination of this facility with Okuma’s local service and support from distribution partners will enhance the overall service experience for customers operating Okuma machines.
