Nikon Opens Cutting-Edge Technology Center in California to Boost Customer Support and Metal Additive Manufacturing!

Nikon Corp. and Nikon Advanced Manufacturing Inc. have inaugurated the Nikon AM Technology Center in Long Beach, California. This 90,000-square-foot facility is a pivotal part of Nikon’s Vision 2030 plan, designed to advance manufacturing and establish digital manufacturing as a key growth area. The center is strategically positioned to support the aviation, aerospace, and defense industries, offering a wide range of solutions aimed at accelerating customer adoption, scaling, and supply chain efficiency in metal additive manufacturing.

The facility consolidates a global team of specialists and houses Nikon AM Synergy Inc., Nikon Research and Development, and Nikon SLM Solutions Studios. It is equipped with state-of-the-art metallurgy and metrology capabilities, alongside large-format laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) tools and high-precision directed energy deposition (DED) equipment. These resources enable Nikon to deliver comprehensive design, engineering, and production solutions, meeting critical customer needs for scaling and supply chain capacity.

Hamid Zarringhalam, CEO of Nikon Advanced Manufacturing, emphasized the center’s role in revolutionizing the manufacturing landscape, highlighting Nikon’s commitment to leveraging its global expertise and new acquisitions to support partners and customers.
