Nefab, a leading provider of sustainable packaging and logistics solutions, has announced the opening of a new 19,000-square-foot facility in Grand Blanc, Michigan, under its PolyFlex brand. This state-of-the-art site is equipped with cutting-edge CNC machines and 3D printers, enabling PolyFlex to design, prototype, and build tooling for injection molded solutions all in one location. With an existing facility in Farmington Hills focused on injection-molded packaging for the automotive industry, this new addition will enhance collaboration, reinforcing Nefab’s commitment to offering advanced packaging solutions for automotive customers.
The facility’s investment in the latest technologies allows Nefab to work with a broader range of materials, including thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), resulting in rapid prototyping, cost-effective solutions, and faster lead times. By integrating injection molding, thermoforming, and tool production in-house, Nefab streamlines its operations, reduces turnaround times, and improves its ability to produce tools more efficiently, ultimately cutting costs and improving speed to market.
Nefab’s commitment to sustainability is evident in its closed-loop system for returnable injection molded and thermoformed packaging, designed to minimize waste and enhance sustainability throughout the packaging lifecycle. This year alone, the company reused over 1 million pounds of plastic through its reground material process, repurposing what would otherwise end up in landfills. Nefab also offers customers credits for their used plastic packaging, which is then reground and integrated into new programs, promoting efficient reuse and reducing environmental impact.
In addition to the production capabilities, the new facility features a large training room, where employees and customers can learn about advancements in packaging and tooling technology, fostering a collaborative environment for innovation and skill development.
This expansion positions Nefab to provide even more efficient, sustainable packaging solutions for its automotive clients, while continuing to lead the way in eco-friendly practices within the packaging industry.
