Nakamura-Tome Precision Unveils WY-150V: A New Era in CNC Multitasking Lathe Technology!

Nakamura-Tome Precision Industry Co., Ltd. has officially launched its latest CNC multitasking lathe, the WY-150V, marking a significant addition to its V series lineup. This machine, designed for unparalleled speed and efficiency, follows the successful introduction of the NTY³-100V earlier this year and showcases several innovative technologies, including the cutting-edge “ChronoCut,” which effectively reduces idle time during machining processes.

The WY-150V is equipped with standard Y-axis upper and lower turrets alongside opposed twin spindles, facilitating simultaneous left/right and upper/lower machining. The redesigned spindles and index units enhance rigidity, allowing the machine to operate under more demanding cutting conditions. A heat-resistant frame structure further minimizes thermal displacement, ensuring optimal performance. The integration of the ChronoCut software as a standard feature highlights Nakamura-Tome’s commitment to improving efficiency without compromising accuracy.

With its impressive specifications, the WY-150V is the first in its class to handle a φ80 bar capacity and can be equipped with a powerful motor of up to 28/15kW. The milling motor, boasting a standard output of 7.5/3.7kW and a maximum rotation speed of 10,000 min⁻¹, enables high-speed machining of larger workpieces while maintaining exceptional rigidity and precision.

Shogo Nakamura, CEO of Nakamura-Tome, expressed his excitement about the WY-150V’s capabilities, stating, “This multitasking lathe is engineered for high-speed, high-precision machining, perfectly embodying our motto, ‘Faster than the fastest.’ With the ability to handle a wide range of workpieces from 6 to 8-inch chuck sizes and bar capacities from φ65 to φ80, we are confident the WY-150V will leave a lasting impression on our customers.” He invites industry professionals to experience the remarkable speed and power of this new machine, emphasizing its role in reducing the burdens of manufacturing while enhancing productivity.
