Lyndex-Nikken, a leading manufacturer of high-performance machine tool accessories and automation, has announced a strategic partnership with Zero Clamp GmbH to provide top-tier, German-engineered clamping solutions to manufacturers across North America. This collaboration focuses on the Zero Point clamping system and modular clamping rail system, which are designed to significantly reduce setup and changeover times.
Traditionally, setting up a workpiece on CNC machine tools can be a time-consuming process, negatively impacting spindle utilization and overall profitability. The innovative workholding solutions from Zero Clamp are crafted for precision and high repeatability, allowing manufacturers to create lean processes that enhance workflows and agility across various applications.
The Zero Point clamping system is a modern alternative to conventional T-slot tables, requiring only a single clamping stud, which greatly decreases setup times and enhances machine capacity. This pneumatic system operates efficiently with just 87 psi of air pressure, making it suitable for any machine shop and ideal for milling, turning, spark erosion, and quality assurance tasks.
This system operates similarly to an HSK tool arbor taper, ensuring zero radial play and maintaining axial positioning with a remarkable repetition accuracy of less than 2.5 µm. The simplicity of its assembly, combined with minimal components, guarantees high repeatability and maximum flexibility, thereby enhancing process reliability throughout production.
Additionally, the modular clamping rail system serves as an alternative to traditional vices, offering flexible usage on machine tools. The SL080 and SL120 systems provide clamping forces of 20 kN and 40 kN, respectively, ensuring safe operation even during heavy-duty machining. Their design allows for infinite coupling of clamping rails with a pairing accuracy of 0.001”, maximizing clamping width possibilities.
With a height reduction of 50% compared to conventional vices, the modular clamping rail system optimizes Z travel distance. Its lightweight design, 70% lighter than standard vices, enhances user-friendliness and maneuverability.
A comprehensive array of clamping accessories further enhances accurate clamping for both blank and finished parts, tailored to meet the specific contours of each piece. This partnership is set to deliver innovative and efficient clamping solutions that will elevate manufacturing capabilities in North America.
