How did they drill multiple layers of challenging materials?
CFRP, titanium and aluminum – that’s a lot of different materials to drill through with one…
The L.S. Starrett Co. has introduced the AVR400 CNC Vision System, the largest benchtop platform in their AVR Vision Metrology Line. Designed to double the speed of previous models, the AVR400 features stage travel of 15.8″ × 11.8″ × 7.9″ (400 mm × 300 mm × 200 mm) with a travel speed of up to 120 mm/sec in the XYZ axes, significantly enhancing measurement speed and efficiency.
The AVR400 offers full CNC capabilities, including XYZ positioning, along with versatile zoom and telecentric lens options. Users have the flexibility to opt for motorized manual positioning through a joystick and track ball or use the system’s intuitive pendant control. Equipped with MetLogix’s M3 software, the system features easy interaction through both a mouse and a touchscreen monitor.
The system’s automatic part recognition simplifies creating part measurement programs, allowing for easy inspection of desired features, which can be saved to the system or network. Programmable light output options provide additional customization, while the use of a Renishaw touch probe allows for quick and accurate Z-axis measurements and profile points.
The AVR400’s granite base ensures stability, and the system is complemented by a modular workstation on caster wheels, providing flexible use on the shop floor or in quality control labs.
