Keselowski Advanced Manufacturing (KAM) has officially joined forces with AddMan Group, further expanding the latter’s portfolio and solidifying its position as the largest and fastest-growing additive manufacturing (AM) provider in the U.S. This strategic partnership marks AddMan’s most significant growth in metal AM technology and readiness, with a combined operational capacity of over 50 metal additive production machines.
This collaboration offers customers a comprehensive metal AM process, from design to mass production. Together, AddMan Group and KAM boast more than 300,000 square feet of AM production space, with KAM’s 70,000-square-foot facility in Statesville, North Carolina, enhancing their capabilities. The merger ensures faster delivery times and exceptional product quality, positioning the entity as a leader in advanced manufacturing.
KAM’s founder, Brad Keselowski, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, noting that AddMan’s integration signifies a major leap forward for the additive industry. “This merger combines KAM’s world-class processes with AddMan’s abundant resources and R&D capabilities, setting a new industry standard for innovation and excellence,” said Keselowski. He will continue to play a vital role as a commercial advisor on AddMan’s board of directors, ensuring a smooth transition and future growth.
KAM now joins forces with Castheon, AddMan’s metal additive research and production facility in Thousand Oaks, California. The combined expertise and strengths of both locations will enable them to provide industry-leading solutions in refractory alloy production and material science. The partnership offers coast-to-coast support, from engineering design to full-scale production, ensuring superior AM solutions for clients.
According to Joe Calmese, AddMan CEO, the integration of KAM into AddMan’s portfolio reflects the group’s commitment to building a world-class AM enterprise. “Brad and his team have built an impressive 3D printing operation in a short amount of time, and we’re proud to welcome them to our growing family of additive experts,” said Calmese.
Both KAM and AddMan heavily cater to the defense and commercial space markets. Their combined efforts will strengthen their manufacturing and technological readiness levels, enabling them to deliver advanced, market-ready solutions. With the backing of American Industrial Partners (AIP), the partnership is poised to lead the way in transformative 3D printing technologies for the defense sector.
Keselowski’s vision for KAM originated from his experience in motorsports, where he saw the benefits of metal AM parts in enhancing race car performance, particularly in NASCAR. This sparked his interest in the broader potential of additive manufacturing for various industries. “Additive manufactured parts were making my race cars faster,” Keselowski explained. In 2017, he shifted his focus to developing KAM, which has since produced parts for applications ranging from deep-sea exploration to space exploration.
After six years, Keselowski decided to merge KAM with AddMan Group and AIP to further grow the business and expand its capabilities. “My goal has always been to play for No. 1,” he said, emphasizing his ambition to lead the additive manufacturing sector.
AddMan Group serves customers throughout the entire product lifecycle, from prototyping to end-of-life. With a network of four companies and over 500 employees, AddMan offers a wide range of manufacturing solutions, including metal and polymer 3D printing, precision CNC machining, and domestic injection molding. Supported by a team of experienced engineers, AddMan helps customers overcome complex challenges with innovative solutions.
Keselowski was drawn to AddMan Group due to its sophisticated portfolio of contract manufacturers in the AM space, all of which complement each other. “This partnership represents the next step in ensuring we are the best in the business,” he said.
KAM specializes in laser powder bed fusion and CNC capabilities, offering vertically integrated simulation and engineering services through serial production. The company’s team of skilled engineers and machinists focus on creativity, problem-solving, and innovation, providing custom solutions for industries including aerospace, defense, energy, automotive, and motorsports.
