Kennametal Appoints Douglas Dietrich to Board of Directors, Strengthening Strategic Leadership!

Kennametal Inc. has announced the election of Douglas T. Dietrich to its Board of Directors, effective February 1, 2025. Dietrich, currently the Executive Chairman and CEO of Minerals Technologies Inc. (MTI), brings over 30 years of leadership experience in industrial goods, mining, and metals manufacturing, making him a strategic addition to Kennametal’s leadership team.

Dietrich has led Minerals Technologies since 2016, driving transformative change through strategic, operational, and financial leadership. His expertise in engineering, manufacturing, and global business development makes him well-positioned to support Kennametal’s growth objectives.

Before leading MTI, Dietrich held senior leadership roles at Alcoa Inc., including Vice President of Alcoa Wheel Products, President of Alcoa Latin America Extrusions, and General Manager of Global Rod and Bar Products. His global business experience in Asia and Latin America and deep expertise in engineering and operations management further strengthen his ability to contribute to Kennametal’s strategic initiatives.

Earlier in his career, Dietrich held key engineering and operational roles at Eaton Corporation and Westinghouse Electric Corp. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan and an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
