Hurco Companies Inc. and Ed Carpenter Racing (ECR) have announced the continuation of their partnership in anticipation of the 108th Indianapolis 500. Hurco recently supplied ECR with two advanced machines: a TM10Mi lathe with live tooling and a high-speed, five-axis VMX42HSRTi mill. Located just a mile from ECR’s race shop, Hurco’s Indianapolis headquarters also provides ongoing support and service to the race team.
Ed Carpenter, who owns and drives for the team, leads ECR. Tim Broyles, ECR President, highlights the crucial role Hurco machines play in their operations. “The racing industry demands quick turnaround from design to manufacturing. We rely on our Hurco machines for various projects, including aluminum suspension setup jigs, exotic material support equipment, and alloy steel chassis components,” says Broyles. “These machines enable us to respond swiftly with the precision, efficiency, and accuracy needed in our competitive environment.”
Scott Camloh, General Manager of Hurco North America, underscores the significance of racing in the company’s culture. “Being headquartered in Indianapolis, Hurco fully embraces the racing passion shared by our customers, employees, neighbors, and the community. As Hoosiers, we are proud to host ‘The Greatest Spectacle in Racing’ in our own backyard every year. The Hurco family is thrilled to support Ed Carpenter Racing and honored to have our technology involved at the highest level of the sport.”
The 108th Indianapolis 500 was scheduled for Sunday, May 26.
