Horn’s DG Modular Interchangeable Head Milling System Boosts Efficiency with Quick Changeovers and High Precision!

Horn USA introduces the DG modular interchangeable head milling system, engineered to enhance the interface between the cutting head and shank for improved versatility, stability, and precision in changeovers. This innovative system features a solid carbide monoblock design, with both the interface and cutting-edge shape precision-ground from a carbide blank. The advanced design, utilizing a guide pin, a precision trapezoidal thread, and a taper/flat contact, achieves changeover accuracy within the micrometer range, reducing setup time and minimizing production costs.

The modular system enables quick and efficient replacement of cutting heads, with support for various cutting inserts, including custom configurations. Available in standard diameters ranging from 10 mm to 25 mm, the DG milling heads offer options with cutting-edge lengths of either 0.5 × D or 1 × D. The cutter shanks are produced in both solid carbide and steel versions, each equipped with internal coolant channels to support cooling during operations.

For machining tasks in material groups P (steel) and K (cast iron), Horn offers the new grade RC4P for increased efficiency and productivity. The DG milling system’s modularity and high precision make it a reliable solution for a wide range of applications, providing users with an adaptable and economical tool that enhances both production speed and machining quality.
