Honeywell to power up Volts’ UAE gigafactory with high-tech automation solutions

A partnership between Honeywell and Volts UAE has been reported to establish the first gigafactory in Abu Dhabi. In this plant, battery cells for Residential Energy Storage Systems (RESS) will be produced. The gigafactory will be ready by the end of 2026. This is in line with the UAE Energy Strategy 2050, which encourages sustainable new ideas and practices.

Honeywell will offer advanced solutions for building digital factories, automating processes, and using closed-loop control systems. This will improve the high-tech facility’s performance and make it ready for future needs. Referencing the COP28 discussions, George Bou Mitri, VP and GM of Honeywell Industrial Automation in MENA, underlined the significance of the partnership in advancing the UAE’s energy revolution.

Honeywell has been conducting business in the Middle East for over 70 years. The company helps countries in the region to develop and diversify their economies by integrating physical products with innovative software, in alignment with ESG and sustainability goals.

On the other hand, Volts provides clean energy to support the UAE’s Energy Strategy 2050. The strategic partnership formed with Honeywell has been praised by Andrey Kozhevin, Managing Partner of Volts UAE Ltd, for its commitment to sustainable development principles.

Vladimir Mlynchik, the Founder of Volts UAE Ltd, is glad that this collaboration will speed up the region’s shift towards sustainable energy. He also underscored the shared dedication of both organisations to innovations and sustainable energy solutions.
