In celebration of its 75th anniversary, Hitachi Energy is not just looking back at its legacy but is also forging ahead with plans to invest approximately Rs 2000 crore over the next four to five years, aligning with India’s Net-zero ambitions. The company recently kicked off the two-day Energy & Digital World 75 (EDW75) symposium, featuring notable speakers such as Amitabh Kant, India’s G20 Sherpa, and the company’s global CEO Andreas Schierenbeck, alongside N Venu, Managing Director and CEO of Hitachi Energy India.
This significant investment is set to bolster the supply chain, enhance digital capabilities, and upgrade manufacturing capacity and skills. Key highlights include expanding the working capacity of the large power transformer factory, enhancing testing facilities for small power transformers, and relocating the bushing factory. The firm also aims to introduce localized solutions like Grid eXpand and Grid eMotion while unveiling its first medium voltage offering, the REF650.
The upcoming Energy and Digital World 75 event, scheduled for October 7 and 8, 2024, in New Delhi, is expected to attract around 2000 attendees, including legislators, regulators, diplomats, and industry leaders. The event will feature technical seminars on new energy integration and sustainable electrification, fostering collaboration and innovation in building smart infrastructure.
