Godrej & Boyce, part of the Godrej Enterprises Group, has successfully completed a 25MW AC ground-mounted solar project in Dhule, Maharashtra, for the Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Ltd. Spanning over 52 hectares, the solar plant is expected to generate 45 million units of electricity annually, significantly contributing to Maharashtra’s green energy objectives.
The project aligns with India’s ambitious goal of reaching 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy by 2030, as outlined in the COP26 Panchamrit initiative. Raghavendra Mirji, Executive Vice President & Business Head of Electricals & Electronics at Godrej & Boyce, emphasized that the project reinforces their commitment to the ‘Make in India’ initiative and showcases their ability to deliver customized, efficient solutions tailored to specific challenges.
To address the unique terrain challenges of undulated land and hard soil, Godrej & Boyce implemented innovative engineering solutions, designing structures to improve wind resistance and operational efficiency. This new project boosts Mahagenco’s total capacity to 428.02 MW and demonstrates Godrej & Boyce’s technological expertise in managing complex solar installations.
