FPT Industrial Begins Production of F28 Engine in India to Power Agricultural and Construction Sectors!

FPT Industrial has officially started the production of its advanced F28 engine in India, tailored for use in both agricultural and construction machinery. This move comes as part of a licensed agreement, with the engines being assembled at CNH Industrial’s Greater Noida facility in Uttar Pradesh, just southeast of New Delhi.

This strategic expansion allows Indian customers access to FPT’s cutting-edge engine technology, enhancing the efficiency and sustainability of the local market. The F28 engine, designed to meet the stringent India TREM 5 emission standards, will be produced on a newly built assembly line within the renovated Noida plant.

The production rollout is set to coincide with the introduction of Stage 5 CEV legislation for construction equipment by the end of 2024 and the TREM Stage 5 standards for agricultural equipment by April 2026. The F28 engines will power New Holland tractors made at the Greater Noida plant and Case Construction Equipment from Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh.

During the inauguration ceremony, Eugenia Valente, Vice President of Asia & ANZ for FPT Industrial, highlighted the mutual advantages of this collaboration, stating that it allows CNH Industrial to better meet the specific demands of the Indian market while also helping FPT Industrial broaden its regional presence.

The F28 diesel engine comes in multiple power variants, ranging from 37 to 75 kW, and can be customized with various components such as flywheels, oil pans, and filters. Its one-side servicing design, paired with a 600-hour oil change interval, ensures reduced maintenance costs and increased uptime for operators.
