Flexxbotics and LMI Enable Robot-Driven Manufacturing with Six Sigma Quality Control!

Flexxbotics announced the launch of its advanced robotic machine tending solutions, now fully compatible with the complete range of LMI Technologies’ 3D scanning and inspection products. This strategic integration empowers manufacturing companies to implement robot-driven operations with Flexxbotics, leveraging LMI Technologies to achieve closed-loop quality control and Six Sigma consistency in unattended manufacturing processes.

At the heart of this innovation is Flexxbotics’ proprietary FlexxCORE technology, which facilitates secure connections and seamless communication between Flexxbotics robots and LMI Technologies’ high-precision metrology equipment. This integration allows robots to receive real-time feedback based on automated inspection results, enabling immediate adjustments to CNC machine programs for autonomous process control. By orchestrating fleets of production robots within smart factory environments, Flexxbotics significantly reduces defects, enhances throughput, and increases profit per part through continuous operations.

Flexxbotics’ compatibility extends across LMI Technologies’ entire lineup of Gocator sensors, including 3D point profilers, 3D line profilers, 3D snapshot sensors, and 3D line confocal sensors. Additionally, the compatibility encompasses Chroma+Scan multipoint scanners and FocalSpec 3D line confocal sensors, ensuring comprehensive integration with various inspection technologies.

“We understand the critical role that inspection technologies play in enabling smart factory autonomy by providing the closed-loop feedback necessary for autonomous process control,” said Tyler Modelski, CTO and Co-Founder of Flexxbotics. “That’s why we have developed our solution to be compatible with all types of inspection equipment, including probes, sensors, vision systems, lasers and gauges, CMMs, and more. This versatility ensures that our clients can achieve seamless integration and maintain high standards of quality control.”

Flexxbotics’ solution digitalizes robotic production, offering autonomous process control tailored for next-generation smart factory environments. The system operates both online and offline, ensuring uninterrupted production regardless of internet access. Furthermore, Flexxbotics integrates effortlessly with existing business systems such as CAD/CAM, DNC, SCADA, IIoT, MES, ERP, PLM, and others, providing comprehensive process integration across various manufacturing platforms.

The Flexxbotics platform features a full suite of bi-directional communications, transformation, and routing capabilities for connected inspection tools, robots, and machinery. This includes functionalities such as loading programs, sending instructions, updating parameters, and maintaining status awareness based on the machinery’s capabilities. Consequently, robots can effectively manage LMI Technologies’ equipment alongside CNC machines and other assets within the smart factory ecosystem.

“Flexxbotics enables robots to transcend traditional roles of merely monitoring machines,” said Tyler Bouchard, CEO and Co-Founder of Flexxbotics. “Our robots actively run the machines and inspection technologies based on your commands, ensuring closed-loop quality control for higher yields and continuous operations. We believe that the rapid evolution of robot-driven manufacturing is fundamentally transforming the future of smart manufacturing today.”
