Fixtureworks is elevating workholding solutions with its CP170 five-axis clamping vises, specifically designed to provide stable and secure workpiece clamping during five-axis machining. This innovative system is ideal for precision applications where reliability and accuracy are paramount.
The CP170 clamping system features self-centering jaws, which move toward the center for improved stability and precise workpiece positioning. The vises come in 130 mm and 170 mm lengths and are engineered to provide a rigid design that can withstand up to 4,500 lb (20 kN) of clamping force. These robust vises ensure tight clamping even in demanding machining conditions, reducing vibration and shifting during the cutting process.
To enhance versatility, Fixtureworks offers a range of compatible accessories for the CP170 system, including centering clamps, jaws, and clamping pins. These accessories enable the vise to adapt to different workpiece sizes and shapes, ensuring secure and stable clamping in various machining tasks. The self-centering jaws come in two variations: dovetail and serrated designs. Dovetail jaws are ideal for precision clamping, while the serrated jaws provide an enhanced grip for more aggressive operations and are particularly useful for heavy-duty applications. Both jaw options ensure positive clamping and excellent workpiece stability.
The Flex Zero Bases, another key component of the system, enable the CP170 vises to clamp workpieces, fixture plates, and other accessories with exceptional repeatability. Available in 240 mm and 150 mm square configurations, the Flex Zero Bases feature four-point clamping in a single operation, allowing for quick fixture changes and reducing setup times. The locating repeatability is accurate to within 0.005 mm, which is critical for ensuring consistent quality in high-precision machining.
The body of the Flex Zero Bases is made from 1050 nitrocarburized steel with an HV 400 hardness, ensuring long-lasting durability. Additionally, the threaded spindle is crafted from 4140 steel with a black oxide finish, enhancing resistance to wear and tear during high-stress operations.
With these advanced features, the CP170 clamping system delivers exceptional performance for five-axis machining applications. Whether handling small, intricate parts or large, complex geometries, the CP170 system ensures secure clamping and optimal precision. Fixtureworks continues to set the standard in workholding solutions, offering products that enable manufacturers to achieve superior results with greater efficiency and reduced costs.
