The ENGEL Group, Europe’s leading provider of injection moulding technology, has announced a strategic partnership with Electronica Plastic Machines (EPM), a prominent Indian manufacturer of hydraulic injection moulding machines. By acquiring a stake in EPM, ENGEL not only integrates a key player into its network but also reinforces its footprint in the Indian market, enabling deeper collaboration and localised innovation.
EPM, a second-generation family business based in Pune, has been a recognized leader in India’s plastics machinery industry for over three decades. ENGEL and EPM share a common ethos, focusing on sustainability, family ownership, and a people-first approach, creating a strong foundation for their collaboration.
This strategic move aligns with the “Make in India” initiative, with EPM’s Pune facility becoming a hub for manufacturing advanced injection moulding machines tailored to the Indian market’s specific needs. Furthermore, this partnership opens doors for exporting Indian-made machines to key regions, including the Middle East and Africa.
ENGEL’s global expertise, combined with EPM’s strong local presence, offers customers:
Aditya Ratnaparkhi, Managing Director of EPM, will continue to lead the company, ensuring continuity and stability while leveraging ENGEL’s technical expertise and global network. “This partnership represents a transformative milestone for EPM,” said Ratnaparkhi. “By integrating our expertise with ENGEL’s state-of-the-art technology, we’re set to deliver superior injection moulding solutions that meet our customers’ dynamic needs while setting new benchmarks for precision, efficiency, and reliability.”
The partnership comes at a time when India’s injection moulding industry is poised for significant growth, with a CAGR of approximately 6% from 2024 to 2030. The collaboration aligns with India’s focus on sustainable practices and local production, enhancing the country’s capabilities in manufacturing advanced machinery.
Dr. Stefan Engleder, CEO of the ENGEL Group, emphasized, “Our goal is to support EPM’s growth while preserving its strong identity. We are united by shared values and a commitment to sustainable and long-term success.”
This collaboration underscores ENGEL’s commitment to empowering India’s manufacturing sector while delivering advanced, efficient, and sustainable solutions to a growing global market.
