Copeland Invests Rs 500 Crore in India to Expand Manufacturing and R&D Capabilities, Supporting ‘Make in India’ Initiative!

Copeland, a global leader in sustainable solutions, has announced a significant Rs 500 crore investment in India aimed at expanding its manufacturing facility in Atit, Maharashtra, and constructing a state-of-the-art global R&D center in Pune. This investment will strengthen the company’s engineering capabilities, boost production capacity for its compression solutions, and foster innovation in heating, cooling, refrigeration, and industrial technologies.

The Pune manufacturing facility will see an expansion of 7,350 square meters over the next five years, while the new 15,000 square meter R&D center will focus on advancing Copeland’s climate solutions. Additionally, the Atit facility will introduce a new scroll compressor production line catering to both domestic and international markets, significantly advancing cooling and refrigeration technology across the region.

Ross B. Shuster, CEO of Copeland, emphasized India’s importance as a growth market and how this expansion aligns with the company’s commitment to innovation and customer service. “These planned investments will enable us to increase production capacity and reduce lead times for our customers while supporting India’s energy and environmental goals,” Shuster said.

Sandeep Gupta, Vice President and Managing Director of Copeland India, highlighted the alignment of these investments with India’s “Make in India” initiative, reiterating the company’s dedication to providing sustainable solutions to meet the growing demands of Indian customers.
