ABB Robotics Partners with Molg to Create Robotic Microfactories for Tackling E-Waste!
ABB Robotics has announced a collaboration with U.S. start-up Molg to develop robotic microfactories aimed at…
Canon U.S.A. has partnered with OSARO Inc. to introduce a cutting-edge robotic bagging system that leverages Canon’s innovative force-torque sensor technology. Debuted at the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) in Chicago, this solution is designed to revolutionize order fulfillment processes by automating SKU bagging.
The system, which features Canon’s durable and precise optical-encoder-based force-torque sensor, is optimized for robotic applications. This sensor, when mounted on robotic arms, can accurately measure the magnitude and direction of loads along three axes, aiding automation in tasks that typically rely on manual work. The sensor is noted for its lightweight, digital precision, and reduced vulnerability to damage.
OSARO’s Robotic Bagging System, powered by AI and machine learning through OSARO’s SightWorks software, offers dynamic object detection and real-time adaptability. This enables the system to handle thousands of SKUs with minimal downtime, addressing labor shortages while boosting efficiency in fulfillment operations.
“Canon’s sensors, combined with OSARO’s self-learning AI technology, offer a breakthrough in automation solutions for e-commerce and fulfillment sectors,” said Brent Barcey, SVP of corporate development at OSARO.
This collaboration highlights the companies’ commitment to advancing automation technologies that can transform the manufacturing and fulfillment industries.
