Altair has announced a strategic partnership with Cimatron Ltd., a subsidiary of Sandvik Group, to broaden the reach of its innovative design and simulation solutions. As a global channel partner, Cimatron will help expand the adoption of Altair’s HyperWorks® platform, including advanced tools like InspireTM Mould and InspireTM Form for injection moulding and metal forming. These cutting-edge technologies are set to transform industrial design by offering enhanced productivity and optimized product development.
Pavan Kumar, Senior Vice President of Global Indirect Business at Altair, highlighted the significance of the partnership, expressing enthusiasm for the impact it will have on manufacturing clients. Dan Marinac, acting president of Cimatron, added that integrating Cimatron and Altair’s technologies will drive customer productivity, enabling the creation of superior products across various industries.
The collaboration enables toolmakers to leverage digital twins, offering “virtual prove out” that simulates and optimizes designs, allowing users to anticipate and prevent production issues like warpage, cracks, surface defects, and more. With Altair’s intuitive technology, toolmakers can use simulation without the need for advanced CAE expertise, saving time and money while improving overall product quality.
