ABB Robotics has announced a partnership with Canadian cloud-based robotics developer Vention to bring collaborative robot (cobot) automation to small and medium-sized manufacturers. Through this collaboration, ABB’s GoFa cobots will be compatible with Vention’s Manufacturing Automation Platform, enabling users to access design, programming, operations monitoring, and remote support tools through a seamless platform.
This partnership is expected to expand the reach of ABB’s GoFa cobots, which are designed to work alongside humans in tasks such as assembly, material handling, and inspection. The collaboration also aims to make robotic automation more accessible to DIY automation users, enabling companies to integrate cobot technology easily from design to operation. ABB’s cobots, with payloads ranging from 5–12 kg, will be available on Vention’s marketplace.
Etienne Lacroix, CEO of Vention, expressed excitement about the partnership, highlighting their multi-year collaboration across Europe and North America. Andrea Cassoni, ABB’s head of collaborative robots, added that the combined hardware and software expertise of the two companies will make automation more accessible, helping businesses improve their operations while making workplaces safer and more efficient.
Vention’s platform allows users to design, deploy, and operate automated equipment directly from a web browser, serving over 4,000 customers worldwide.
