US Motor Works invests $19 million in a new Missouri fulfilment center

US Motor Works, a producer and distributor of aftermarket automobile parts, is investing $19.2 million in a new, 167,000-square-foot fulfilment centre in Liberty, Missouri, according to the Kansas City Area Development Council (KCADC). The facility, which will be located in the Heartland Meadows Industrial Park, will assist US Motor in centralising distribution, expanding capabilities, and shortening delivery times. With headquarters in Santa Fe Springs, California, the corporation currently maintains six North American locations.

This will be US Motor’s first site in the Midwest. US Motor operates four plants in California, one in Duluth, Georgia, and one in Monterrey, Mexico. “Our new facility will be three days away from 90% of the country by truck,” said Gil Benjamin, president and CEO of US Motor Works. The fulfilment centre is expected to be fully operational in January 2024.

“With over 70 million square feet of industrial development in the last ten years and more than 190,000 skilled workers, Kansas City has established itself as a leading centre for distribution operations within North America,” said Chris Gutierrez, president of KC SmartPort. Since 1995, US Motor has been family-owned and run, with over 300 employees. Over the last five years, the company has significantly expanded its operations.
