PEOPLE MAKE THE DIFFERENCE

MMC HARDMETAL UK ANNOUNCES A NEW SENIOR MANAGEMENT TEAM.

MMC Hardmetal, the UK sales arm of the Mitsubishi Materials, Metalworking Solutions Company from Japan, is proud to announce new additions and the re-structuring of the senior management team. The appointment of several new members, together with the some of the existing staff has created a strategic move to drive the company’s vision forward and reinforce commitment to engineering excellence and top class customer service.

Jason Purcell, the General Manager since September 2023 brings  a wealth of experience from previous roles in the industry. He mentions the brief he was given when appointed. “I already understood that Mitsubishi’s product quality is second to none. However, maintaining that reputation requires top people and an increased level of customer service. In addition, I was tasked with enhancing the Mitsubishi name and branding to ensure that we are one of the first companies that engineers and buyers turn to when supply, choice and advanced engineering support are required.”

He continued by saying, “There are obviously several choices for customers to choose from for high quality cutting tools. However, even in this modern age of internet buying, people still buy from people, especially when there are challenging metal cutting applications and when customers need our expertise. I want to deliver what the modern metal cutting industry demands;  therefore, a new  HR and Corporate Manager was essential to help me build the new senior management team.”  He continued, “ I appointed Melanie Drayton as the HR and Corporate Planning Manager. Her previous 32 years employment at the  UK office and vast knowledge of the employees has brought the necessary experience to the role and helped build the new team.” Another recent addition to the office team is Finance Controller, Ella Malin who joined on 1st July. She will take on the responsibilities of this important area of the business.

Two other long term employees, Mark Ross, the South UK regional manager and Adrian Barnacle the Moldino Project Manager were also key decision makers in bringing the new team together. Mark Ross said, “It is an important period for MMC Hardmetal UK, especially considering the ultra-competitive nature of the precision tool market.  We are thrilled to welcome new leaders to our senior management team,”

The newest members of the senior engineering team include Philip Parkes, was appointed as the North UK Regional Manager. Tim Rose the new Channel Manager, responsible for distribution and key accounts, will also work closely with Mark Warrington who fills the brand new role of Project Engineering Manager. This new role will enhance the already extensive engineering knowledge in the UK branch but will bring an extra focus on a specialised application service for customers.

All the engineering knowledge also needs a dedicated back up team in the office in Tamworth to provide a direct sales point of contact and logistic support. This important area of the business will be led by Amy Holmes. General Manager Jason Purcell said, “Amy’s five years’ experience and hard work at the Tamworth office made it an easy decision to appoint her as Customer Service Supervisor.”

Jason continued to say, “These individuals will form an effective team that brings a wealth of experience as well as fresh perspectives. They will be instrumental in ensuring the future prosperity as we continue to grow and innovate in the ever changing metal working industry.
