HORN ANNOUNCES RETURN OF TECHNOLOGY DAYS

Horn’s Technology Days are back after four years. From 14th to 16th June 2023 at its Tübingen headquarters in Germany, cutting tool manufacturer Horn will offer insights into production using its products. The focus will be on ‘Mastering Processes’ whereby three elements – the tool, workholding method and machine tool – are all essential for an efficient production process. Each requires a holistic approach to make it viable for users and provide added value. Gear skiving, polygon turning, slotting, high-speed whirling and Swiss-type turning are among the processes that will be presented. To register for the event, visit: https://www.horn-technologietage.de/en

Visitors can choose from numerous technical lectures, live machining demonstrations, exhibits including industry-specific exhibition areas and face-to-face discussions. Eight lectures will cover HiPIMS (high-power impulse magnetron sputtering), described as a quantum leap in tool coating; reliable machining of lead-free materials such as brass and steel; polygon turning, high-speed whirling and turning using the medical industry as an example; optimal processes for machining gears; tool solutions for E-mobility; tools for profile grooving and profile broaching in networked manufacturing; turning, milling and drilling using ultra-hard grades; and new tools and processes in sliding-head turning.

On the morning of Thursday15th June, a presentation on the BMBF-funded ZykloMed project will take place on the subject of functionally integrated implants through novel synchronised machining processes. Horn’s carbide production facility will also be open to visitors. Additionally, numerous partner companies will complement the Technology Days and their representatives will be on hand to provide advice.
