Okuma Showcases Intelligent Manufacturing Technology at IMTS 2024
Okuma America Corporation is excited to unveil its latest advancements in intelligent manufacturing technology at the 2024 International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) in Chicago this September. Under the theme “Open Possibilities,” Okuma aims to demonstrate how its innovative CNC machine tools and automation systems can transform manufacturing processes and enhance productivity.
Key Highlights:
Next-Generation CNC Control System: Okuma will feature its new OSP-P500 CNC control across 12 of the 14 machines on display. This advanced control system boasts dual-core processing power, robust cybersecurity features, and an open-architecture Windows®-based platform, facilitating seamless integration with various applications and tools from the Okuma App Store. The OSP-P500 also includes energy management capabilities, ergonomic design, and user-friendly interfaces with both touchscreens and traditional keys (Practical Machinist) (Okuma CNC).
New CNC Machines: Three new CNC machines will make their debut in the Americas:
MA-4000H Horizontal Machining Center
LB2000 EX III-MYW Horizontal Lathe
LB4000 EX III-MYW Horizontal Lathe These machines feature Okuma’s optimized designs and the new OSP-P500 control, aiming to deliver superior performance and efficiency (Practical Machinist).
Automation Innovations: Okuma will present a comprehensive lineup of automation solutions, including:
SmarTwinCELL: A fully managed manufacturing cell utilizing Okuma technologies.
Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR): Designed to transport workpieces between stations autonomously.
Robot Loader (ORL): Simplifies the loading and unloading of workpieces from machines (Practical Machinist) (Okuma).
Sustainability Initiatives: Okuma’s “Green Smart Machine” technology integrates high-performance machining with intelligent energy management, aiming to reduce environmental impact while maintaining precision and productivity. This initiative reflects Okuma’s commitment to sustainable manufacturing practices (Okuma) (Okuma CNC).
Historical Showcase: To highlight Okuma’s rich history of innovation, an early 1900s lathe manufactured in Nagoya, Japan, will be on display. This piece of history underscores Okuma’s long-standing dedication to advancing manufacturing technology (Practical Machinist).
Visitors to IMTS 2024 can explore Okuma’s full range of intelligent manufacturing solutions and engage with technical experts to discover how these innovations can benefit their operations. For more information, visit Okuma America Corporation (Practical Machinist) (Okuma) (Okuma CNC)
