A Miracle on the ENGAGE Stage in Nashville: The Gunn Show’s Most Emotional Episode Yet!

In the vibrant heart of Nashville, Tennessee, the ENGAGE 2024 conference, orchestrated by the NTMA, culminated in a moment that will be etched in the annals of manufacturing history.

The closing keynote, titled “Committing to Change,” was a live recording of the renowned “The Gunn Show” podcast, featuring industry luminaries Meaghan Ziemba, Paul Van Metre, and the unexpected appearance of Jason Zenger.

The anticipation was palpable as Tony Gunn took the stage to moderate the panel. The discussion delved deep into transformative changes within the manufacturing sector, exploring strategies, challenges, and opportunities that are reshaping the industry’s future. Meaghan Ziemba, founder of the “Mavens of Manufacturing” podcast, and Paul Van Metre, co-founder of ProShop ERP, shared invaluable insights, drawing from their extensive experience and passion for manufacturing innovation.

However, the pinnacle of the event was the unannounced arrival of Jason Zenger. In December 2023, Jason suffered a severe heart attack, often referred to as the “widow-maker.” Defying overwhelming odds, he survived and underwent a heart transplant, returning home by January 19, 2024. His journey from the brink of death to the ENGAGE stage was nothing short of miraculous, earning him the moniker “The Miracle.”

As Jason rolled onto the stage, the audience erupted into applause, many moved to tears by his resilience and determination. His presence underscored the conference’s theme of commitment to change, serving as a living testament to overcoming adversity. Jason’s story resonated deeply, reminding everyone that with unwavering determination, even the most formidable challenges can be surmounted.

The ENGAGE 2024 conference, with its blend of expert knowledge and heartfelt moments, set a new standard for industry events. It highlighted the importance of community, resilience, and the continuous pursuit of excellence in manufacturing.
