You can’t keep scaling chaos – automation is the key!
What’s it like to run a machine shop in 2024? Who better to answer that question…
When Unite Co, a manufacturer of high quality cycle parts decided they needed to up their game in terms of precision & quantity they turned to Whitehouse Machine Tools for help. Whitehouse recommended a Brother Speedio M200X3 machining centre and a Biglia B 620 Y2 lathe. As Andrew Cooper owner of Unite Co tells MTDCNC’s Joe Reynolds the Brother is a super fast 5 Axis machine with a very small footprint, high accuracy, low power consumption and a 20 tool magazine, all points that are of great importance to Unite. The Brother is coupled to a robotic loading cell, also installed by Whitehouse, allowing the machine to run 24 hours a day for 6 days a week, quality & quantity of the products produced being both greatly improved. The Biglia B 620 Y2 is a sub spindle lathe with 80mm bore, driven tools and a “Y” axis which allows Unite to produce more complex parts in a single operation and also run overnight unmanned. Whitehouse Machine Tools help with machine choices, funding, training & technical support have allowed Unite Co to move their business to another level with a greater range of higher quality cycle parts on shorter delivery times. I think that’s what you call a win win.
