Rowan Easter-Robinson is in Chesterfield to review the slant-bed Biglia machine installed at Mintdale Engineering. The machine offers greater stability as a 30-degree slant-bed lathe and comes as a twin-spindle twin-turret machine, designed to get more parts out the door quickly. It’s got 12 tools on the turret, which means a huge mix of different parts and operations. The FANUC control is easy to use and program, and no manual intervention means improved productivity even on difficult parts! Completely automated with a bar feeder and loads of capacity, this machine runs all night at Mintdale Engineering.
