New automation cell technology for woodworking at IWF

Tony Gunn of MTDCNC is with Jeff Onsrud of C.R. Onsrud at IWF, North America’s largest woodworking trade show. Jeff and Tony talk about the amazing automation cell that represents new technology in the woodworking world. In partnership with IMA SCHELLING and Barbaric, C. R. Onsrud are showcasing a storage system that takes intermixed panels, picks up a single board, and places it on the machine. The storage system can feed multiple machines, and pre-labelling or marking can be done to know what the parts will be when cut out. Essentially, you can have different jobs and different materials but all you need to do is set it up, walk away, and let the system do the work. You can program everything in the CAD/CAM software to make a list of jobs you want done. Check out how the automated system takes all parts and places them in specific locations based on how the nesting works! The new technology offers zero collisions and the ability to add further processes for autonomous lights out running. If you’re in the woodworking industry in North America, check out C.R. Onsrud!
