We’re here today at Gibbs Gears Engineering. Business Development Director Steve Lillywhite talks to Lyndsey Vickers about the company’s recent purchase of the RoboJob. With four Doosan machines already, the company could have gone with a Doosan robot, but the RoboJob is a versatile and flexible option that can retrofit on any machine if there are changes in the business. The RoboJob helps Gibbs Gears produce an array of different parts, which is extremely helpful in the subcontracting business. Steve says they can run machines for hours and eventually plan to run on weekends as well for improved efficiency and capacity. A few hurdles that come with the RoboJob include a bit of learning, the space it takes up, safety aspects, tool management, and sister tooling. However, the technology allows sister tooling in large batches during unmanned operations and helps them maintain quality control for expensive parts that go in the aerospace, automotive, and electric vehicle industries. Watch the full video to find out why Gibbs Gears has no regrets with their recent purchase of the RoboJob.
