They make 4,000 tool holders a day!

In the tiny German village of Igenhausen are just 500 people, and 500 people work in the nearby Haimer Headquarters. This gives you a sense of the scale of this incredible facility. In this video, MTDCNC’s Tony Gunn speaks with Andreas Haimer, Tobias Völker, and Bettina Modlmeyr from Haimer GmbH about what goes on inside this massive building. We’re shown the working of the entire production facility, including their state-of-the-art toolroom which contains over 10,000 cutting tools, all RFID tagged. The technology allows the tool dispensing to be operated via iPad, and the RFID means that properties like the tool’s life can be measured and checked. Producing 4,000 tool holders a day over 3 shifts requires an incredibly lean and efficient operation – watch this video to find out how Haimer GmbH does it.
