Small machine to big machine? They’ve gone the other way around!
Direct Engineering in Chesterfield is using some fascinating machines to make a diverse range of components…
Lyndsey Vickers is at Arturn Engineering in Rugby to find out why they’ve invested in a large capacity Hanwha sliding head machine from Dugard. A 3.5 tonne machine with 26 tools, the XD38 II has helped Arturn Engineering enhance their machining capacity, allowing up to 38mm on the sliding head. Myles Rudkin from Arturn Engineering says the machine has easily accessible tools and power tools with easy change over and a remarkable coolant flow. Supplied by Dugard, the machine comes with a full package including an LNS bar feeder that’s user friendly and provides insight on remaining power and parts capacity. An excellent range of 32mm to 38mm, extended tool life, and well-maintained tolerances make this machine a great choice for increased capacity!
