Maruichi Leavitt Pipe & Tube Powers Chicago Campus with Solar Energy!

Steel tubing manufacturer Maruichi Leavitt Pipe & Tube has partnered with Chaberton Energy to implement a groundbreaking solar power generation project at its 44-acre corporate campus in Chicago. The initiative marks a significant step toward the company’s sustainability goals and will also benefit the local community.

The multiphase solar project employs a hybrid approach to meet on-site energy needs while supporting the local community through a subscription-based community solar program. Spanning over 1 million sq. ft. (24 acres) of Maruichi Leavitt’s campus, this project will be one of the largest solar installations in Chicago.

Key highlights of the project include:

• Carbon Reduction: Over its lifespan, the installation is expected to cut carbon emissions by more than 310,850 tons, equivalent to the environmental impact of planting 4.7 million trees.
• Energy Efficiency: It will significantly lower the company’s carbon footprint while stabilizing electric costs.

This project marks Maruichi Leavitt’s first solar installation in the U.S. The company is part of the Maruichi Steel Tube Group, a global manufacturing organization based in Japan, known for its dedication to innovation and environmental responsibility.
