ModuleWorks 2024.12: Enhanced Toolpath Programming and Simulation!

ModuleWorks has unveiled its 2024.12 software release, offering a range of advanced features designed to improve toolpath programming, machining accuracy, and digital manufacturing processes. These updates include significant advancements in multi-axis machining, simulation performance, and surface finishing, addressing the evolving needs of industries requiring high precision and efficiency.

One of the standout enhancements is the improved four-axis Swarf mode, which now provides greater geometric accuracy when machining complex surfaces, such as cylindrical cams. The new algorithm accounts for kinematic limitations during toolpath calculations, eliminating the need for adjustments during postprocessing. This improvement not only enhances the accuracy of machined parts but also reduces machining costs and provides more flexibility in selecting tool diameters.

The release also features advanced 3+2-axis deburring, optimized for minimum five-axis motion. This improvement ensures enhanced machining safety and accuracy, enabling precise deburring without manual intervention. Additionally, updates to three-axis machining now allow automatic detection of steep and shallow areas on parts. This feature leverages barrel tools more effectively, resulting in reduced cycle times and improved surface finish quality.

Another significant update is the introduction of rest machining capabilities. The software can now automatically detect areas left unmachined by shorter tools, enabling efficient use of longer tool stick-outs. This capability allows users to apply specific cutting conditions to enhance surface quality and optimize the machining process.

ModuleWorks has incorporated a new triangulation method based on a dexel model to streamline workflows further. This update accelerates stock drawing and mesh export processes, delivering faster and more reliable simulation performance. Improved watertightness of exported meshes ensures smoother manufacturing workflows and higher quality simulations.

These enhancements are tailored to meet the demands of aerospace, automotive, and general manufacturing industries, where precision and efficiency are critical. By combining advanced toolpath strategies, improved simulation, and cutting-edge algorithms, ModuleWorks continues to lead the way in digital manufacturing solutions, empowering users to achieve superior results with reduced costs and time.
